1. What currency is accepted in North Down: Bangor, Holywood and Groomsport 
Pounds Sterling is the only currency that is officially recognised as legal tender in Northern Ireland. On occasion shop-staff and hotels may accept Euro (EUR), however, this is not always the case. 2. Do I need a passport to come to Northern Ireland?
Bangor is situated within Northern Ireland, which is one of the four countries of the United Kingdom and separate from the Republic of Ireland.  If you are a citizen travelling from the United Kingdom you need a passport or national identity card to enter Northern Ireland.  We strongly recommend that you bring a passport as a form of identification if you have one. If you are not a citizen of the United Kingdom then you must have a passport to enter the country. You may also need a visa if you are visiting from a country outside of North America. 3. Can I bring my pet on holiday with me?

Unless you are travelling from within the United Kingdom or the Republic of Ireland to Northern Ireland you may not bring pets into the country. All animals entering the country from outside these regions must undergo lengthy quarantine procedures. We advise that you consult your travel agent or click here for more
